The Couvent des Jacobins

In 2018, Rennes opened its convention centre in the heart of the city after a five-year project to renovate a historic 14th-century building, the Couvent des Jacobins.

This venue offers all the advantages of a 21st-century convention centre, with connected spaces suitable for professional events such as conventions, symposia and conferences. But the Couvent des Jacobins is much more than an event venue: the combination of highly modern spaces and the building’s historic atmosphere creates a unique experience and offers unparalleled flexibility for organisers. Rennes Convention Centre has a Grand Auditorium with 1,000-seats, a 300-seat Patrimonial Auditorium, 25 committee rooms with 40 to 400 seats, 4,000 square metres of exhibition space and capacity to host up to 1,500 people for seated dinners and 3,000 people for cocktail receptions.

The accessibility of the Couvent des Jacobins and the destination overall is undeniably a major asset.

Just 1 hour and 25 minutes from Paris by train and with two metro lines, a bus network, self-service bicycles and a large pedestrian zone in the heart of the historic centre, Brittany's capital is a shining example of mobility. To make your experience as smooth as possible, the helpful teams at the Couvent des Jacobins and the Convention Bureau support event organisers at every step of the way, from design through to completion.

In addition to its convention centre, Rennes offers a wide range of venues suitable for all types of events, as well as a varied selection of service providers (caterers, hostesses, agencies, etc.) to help you organise your business event. The city also offers over 4,000 hotel rooms ranging from 5-star luxury to cosy comfort.

All of these factors make Rennes the ideal destination for a successful business event.
